NICEIC Accreditation For BayWa R.e.

News

BayWa r.e., the global renewable energy developer, service provider and wholesaler, has been officially accredited by the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) for its operation and maintenance of solar and wind farms in the UK.

BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited currently manages a portfolio of around 965 MW of wind and PV projects in the UK of which around 500 MW are utility scale projects across the whole of the UK, from Scotland right down to Cornwall. This includes the biggest solar farm in Northern Ireland.

Ian Draisey, Managing Director of BayWa r.e. Operation Service Limited, said. "The UK is an important market for BayWa r.e.'s operations and maintenance services and one that is growing. We are continually investing in recruitment, internal systems and software. The market is becoming increasingly sophisticated, particularly through digitalisation, and this means we can make an ever-greater difference to a plant's ongoing efficiency. Safety will always remain utmost and we are proud to be recognised for this by the NICEIC."

Jamie Grayson, Senior Technical Manager for BayWa r.e. Operation Service Limited, commented: "At BayWa r.e., safety is paramount and the most important aspect of our services and operations. The NICEIC accreditation is testament to this. It is an important accreditation for our clients, as we are one of the only UK service providers performing to NICEIC regulations. As such, we have some of the highest standards of working in the UK. This is great news for our clients who receive an NIC certificate. Our objective is to be the safest and most professional operation and maintenance provider in the market."

The NICEIC regulates the training and work of electrical enterprises in the UK and has approval from the UK Government to approve people as competent to oversee electrical work. The NICEIC accreditation covers all BayWa r.e. operated sites in the UK and ensures the highest standards of safety and professionalism are maintained across the business.
