Ecotricity's 100% Green Energy To Power Festival Sessions

News

Britain's greenest energy company, Ecotricity, will power over 50 intimate and exclusive gigs with 100% green electricity this summer when it takes over the Lower Lawns at Larmer Tree Festival.

Larmer Tree Festival, which runs from 19th - 22nd July 2018, is one of the UK's most long-standing festivals, set in a stunning location on the Wiltshire-Dorset border.

As part of a new partnership with the festival, Ecotricity will power the Songs From The Shed[1] sessions with 100% green energy "“ over 50 sessions recorded during the course of the festival in the head gardener's shed at Larmer Tree Gardens.

Ecotricity will also bring their sustainability message to the festival in unique ways "“ from offering a pedal bike phone charging service to a virtual reality experience of a wind farm.

Will Guyatt, Head of Communications, Ecotricity, said: "We're so excited about beginning this new relationship with Larmer Tree Festival. It's the start of a new journey for us both "“ sharing in the vision of a greener Britain.

"This year is all about introducing Ecotricity, and working behind the scenes to help the festival become even greener and more sustainable. Come and meet the team on the Ecotricity lawn, enjoy the music from our friends Songs from the Shed, and take some positive steps to protect our planet."

Ecotricity is also running exclusive switch offers before and during the festival: anyone who signs up for the company's 100% green electricity and frack-free green gas will receive a festival survival kit. Sign up before and customers will receive two free bottles of Siblings gin.

Lucy Babb, Larmer Tree Operation Director said: "Larmer Tree has always been a festival committed to taking care of the beautiful Victorian gardens we are privileged to call our home each year and the wider environment.

"This exciting new partnership with Ecotricity is the beginning of the next step in our journey to make Larmer Tree the greenest it can be, linking with a number of initiatives including a "˜Drastic on Plastic' pledge to eliminate single use plastic by 2021.

"We have been fascinated to discover more about Ecotricity's green energy schemes so far and we can't wait to welcome them to the Lower Lawns at Larmer Tree this year".
