Amba Defence Awarded Contract To Manage Low Carbon Farm Security

News

Low Carbon is a privately-owned UK investment company with a unique model that embraces solar photovoltaic (PV), concentrated solar power, wind and anaerobic digestion technologies. Currently, Low Carbon manages 165 MW of UK solar farms. The Low Carbon team has vast experience in controlling renewable energy assets. They undertake regular performance monitoring and analysis of technical output of all sites to ensure each asset delivers maximum operational performance.

With targeted solar panel thefts, a growing problem in the industry, Amba Defence was commissioned to manage the high-specification security systems across the Low Carbon network. Amba is a Defence & Security company, with a focus on delivering bespoke solutions to high-level end users and vertical markets.

Working closely with key stakeholders in the renewables sector, Amba has developed a tailored solution to manage the day-to-day risks associated with solar farm security. This covers perimeter detection, key-holder response and lone-working, as well as the technical considerations of delivering projects in rural and remote locations. Inline with Low Carbon's objectives for operational efficiency, Amba also provide continuous remote security and CCTV monitoring from their state-of-the-art NSI Gold Level II Receiving Centre.

Amba Defence CEO, Shires Crichton, comments, "Renewable energy is an important part of the UK's energy mix, and we are pleased to work with Low Carbon to secure its solar park facilities. Amba Defence is highly experienced in managing large, rural sites and the challenges they present, while also considering the commercial targets of the client.

Connecting solar farm sites to our remote-control room is will provide Low Carbon with actionable intelligence and enables rapid and proper responses to threats."
