Encore Energy Supports Green Homes Grant Scheme

News

National recruiter Encore Personnel's specialist Energy Division has announced it has launched a drive to back the Government's new Green Homes Grant Scheme, which promises to create thousands of green energy jobs up and down the UK.

The £2billion scheme has been designed to help the economy bounce back from the covid-19 pandemic by saving money, cutting carbon and creating jobs. Launching this month (September) the programme aims to support an estimated 140,000 green energy jobs, make 650,000 homes more energy efficient, help save households money on bills and lower the UK's carbon emission by more than half a mega tonne per year (the equivalent to taking 270,000 cars off the road).

With ten branches across the UK and an ever-growing network, Encore currently employs more than 200 staff and registers in the region of 15,000 candidates per year. Its expert team of consultants has over 10 years operating in the renewable energy market all over the UK, with more than 10,000 engineers registered to its database and immediate access to clients and tradespeople in the associated industries.

Sales and Operations Manager for Encore's Energy Division Will Vigars said the scheme presented an excellent opportunity for the business to support not only its clients working in green-energy associated sectors but also the growing number of tradespeople who may have been affected by the unemployment fallout from the pandemic.

He said: “As experts in the energy recruitment field, Encore Energy is perfectly positioned to support businesses in need registering for the Grant and to find tradespeople their perfect role.

“We're currently speaking with all our clients who are anticipating an uplift in work once the scheme has fully launched, while reaching out to tradespeople looking for a new contract or permanent opportunity specialising in solid wall, under floor, cavity wall or roof insulation, air source or ground source heat pump, solar thermal, double, triple or secondary glazing, upgrading energy efficient doors and heating.”

The scheme is offering homeowners a voucher for up to £5,000 to make their home more energy efficient, while low income households can receive up to £10,000 to make home energy-saving improvements.

Will added: “The scheme promises to be extremely popular all over the country, which means businesses working in energy efficiency industries need to be fully prepared for an increase in work - and we can support them at every step with quality candidates.

“We're very proud to be focused on playing our part in contributing to the Government's 2050 net zero carbon target, by putting as many associated tradespeople into work as possible. The Green Homes Grant is the head start we need. 24 million homes require improvements to achieve the Government's goal and the construction and energy industries will play a crucial role in the delivery of low carbon homes.”
