Zigor Appoints Micro-P As Its First UK Distributor Of Solar Inverters
Renewable energy specialist Zigor has appointed Micro-P as its first distributor of its range of solar inverters in the United Kingdom. Micro-P is a leading B2B and retail distributor and represents over 180 manufacturers in the UK selling more than 20,000 products across mobile, computing and accessories, consumer electronics, print, networking, servers and solutions, unified communications and AV solutions.
With offices in Altham, Lancashire, Basingstoke, Hampshire and Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, the DCC PLC-owned company became Zigor's authorised uninterruptible power supply partner in 2010. Following this successful partnership that has built up over the last three years, Micro-P will now sell Zigor's range of solar inverters, while continuing to act as its UPS distributor. Micro-P will focus on selling Zigor's Single Phase On-Grid Sunzet inverters from 2kw up to 5kw for small or domestic solutions and the larger On-Grid Three Phase Sunzet inverters for industrial or commercial applications rated from 10kw up to 3 or 4 mw. On-Grid inverters are designed to be used when there is a mains supply available or as a supplementary source of power. Users can feed any excess power generated back into the National Grid and receive a payment per kilo watt from the electricity and gas utility company. Gavin Banks, UK Sales Manager for Zigor, believes its range of affordable solar inverters that are now available from Micro-P will provide renewable energy installers with lots of opportunities.
Mr Banks said: "Micro-P has helped Zigor establish itself in the United Kingdom as a leading UPS provider. We're very pleased to be able to continue our relationship with them by appointing them as our only UK solar inverter distributor. "We believe the performance of our inverter range, which is rich with technical features and user friendly graphical monitoring, combined with a very competitive price presents renewable energy installers with an excellent opportunity to offer something different. It also allows them to retain profit margin in a challenging marketplace."
Rod Slater, Networking Business Manager at Micro-P, said: "With the cost of energy increasing and the UK government targeting the running cost, capital cost and disposal costs of equipment used in public sector and industry, making use of the newest and most efficient inverter technology allows users to make considerable savings.
"Government departments, commercial and industrial users are all looking to improve their return on existing capital investment and with Zigor's highly efficient inverters, this improvement can be easily achieved. For new installations looking to take advantage of solar to assist in offsetting CO2 or ensuring the highest possible efficiencies, Zigor Sunzet represents excellent value for money. As Zigor's distribution partner, we are looking to train qualified installers to work with our extensive channels in developing and closing new opportunities."
Mr Slater said existing Micro-P IT partners could also get involved through their Your Opportunity, Our Expertise program. This enables partners without the necessary qualifications and skills for solar inverter installations to leverage existing relationships with their customers alongside Micro-P/Zigor installation partners and realise opportunities that can be converted into sales.
All Zigor's inverters include a five-year warranty and achieve high energy efficiency of up to 99% thanks to Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). This ensures the maximum possible power is gained from one or more of its solar panels by the MPPT sampling the output of the solar cells and applying the proper load. The inverters are accessible via its Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Wi-Fi connection that provides an LCD display allowing customers to access production data and track how much revenue is being earned. Users can even get a local weather forecast and monitor the activity of the inverter on social microblogging site, Twitter.
Micro-P will also offer Zigor's Single and Three Phase Hybrid inverters which work in On-Grid or Off-Grid systems and meet power requirements in locations not covered by the grid or where electricity is very expensive.
