Solar Panel Company Launches Amber-Rudd-Inspired Clothing Range
The Eco Experts, a solar panel comparison site, has announced that it will begin to focus on "˜indoor weather-proof clothing' in the face of heavy cuts to the solar energy sector from the government.
The company is diversifying in order to combat huge predicted losses in the solar sector as a result of incentive schemes being slashed by a predicted 90 percent in the New Year.
The new range of highly insulated, yet highly impractical clothing has been named "˜Ruddy Warm Clothing' in homage to Energy Secretary Amber Rudd who has overseen this government U-turn. Two solar companies have already gone bust since the cuts were announced, but The Eco Expert predict a surge in demand for their new line of warm indoor clothing as energy prices soar without solar and people find themselves unable to heat their homes.
Jon Whiting from The Eco Experts comments: "Despite promising they would support renewable energy and encourage green business, the government definitely have more important things to do, like making sure there are enough weapons to go around, so I do understand why the future of the earth and thousands of people's jobs has taken a back seat.
These heated suits seem to be the most financially viable option for us now. We were promised that the future lay in solar energy and set up a business that helped people get the best price for installation. Now the tariff is being cut, we are looking to the next big opportunity; clothing to combat the cold when no one can afford to pay their heating bills anymore and we've run out of fossil fuels."
Currently, households can save up to 50 percent on their heating bills by installing solar panels. Home owners can still sign up to the current tariff and earn up to £13,450 over twenty years if they install before January, with the rate locked in and guaranteed even after the tariff ends.
The proposed changes will see incentives slashed by 90 percent in the New Year. The slashing of the solar feed in tariff scheme takes power away from the people and puts it firmly back into the hands of energy companies.
